Overview
"This workshop focuses on systematically and strategically increasing your clients' length of utterance. Topics discussed include: mean length of utterance (MLU) development in typical children; utterance patterns on which to focus; IEP goals to use and avoid; tips to engage minimally verbal and Autism Spectrum populations." The presentation includes toys, materials and books to use with a variety of learners. A "make and take" portion allows participants tangible tools to use immediately in their therapy sessions."
Presenter
Denise Ferremi, M.S., CCC-SLP, graduated with a B.S. in Communications Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University and a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from La Salle University. As a clinician she has over 8 years of experience servicing students in preschool through 6th grade during her time in both the Fairfax County Public School District and at a therapeutic preschool on Long Island. Denise is the author of the blog Speech Language Pirates as well as the creator of therapeutic materials.
