Overview

School-Based SLPs face a variety of issues every day. During this study group, participants will discuss an article related to In-Classroom Speech-Language Services. Participants will be encouraged to share what their in-classroom speech-language services look like and the roadblocks and successes they have had with this form of service delivery.

Presenter

Kim Scharoff, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSHH, SDA is the Supervisor of Speech-Language and Hearing Services for Nassau BOCES. Prior to becoming an administrator, she worked in the public schools as a speechlanguage pathologist. She has experience with a wide variety of ages and disabilities. She is a Past President of LISHA and continues to serve on the Board of Officers. She is the recipient of the 2012 Outstanding Service Award and the 2015 Honors of the Association for the Long Island SpeechLanguage–Hearing Association.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:
1. Define the role of the SLP during in-classroom Speech-Language Services.

2. Identify two activities they could implement and/or participate in during an in-classroom speechlanguage session.

Cancellations and CEUs

Cancellations are refundable if received 72 business hours prior to the event. Please note: Registrants will receive a certificate of completion when the course has been successfully completed. If you wish to earn CEUs you must complete CEU forms and hand them in at the completion of the workshop.

There will be no internet access at venue to download materials. You will need to either print a copy or download the file to a computer, tablet or phone before the workshop.
