Impact of Inspirational Doodling: How Empowering Messages Create Positive Mindsets

Keynote Speaker: Ilene Fox

Ilene Fox is an elementary school teacher and an inspirational workshop leader. Using her late husband Allan Fox's empowering doodles as a platform for mindfulness, creativity and the mission of spreading peace and love—people are learning how something so simple can be meaningful and powerful. Ilene is continuing the passionate and creative work of her husband by sharing his book Doodles, Volume One so people can develop their own powerful messages and doodles to spread love, joy and kindness around the world. As a teacher for the past 30 years— Ilene's skills within the education community have helped her create a lesson that thousands of students have embraced and are inspired to "doodle like Allan". She works with schools and other sectors to empower others to create meaningful doodles that help themselves live authentically and to live with passion and love. In addition, doodling has many benefits for learning and for stress relief. Ilene is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts/Amherst with a BS in Communications Studies/Mass Media (1985) and earned her master's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Bank Street College in New York City in 1995. Combining these skills has helped her launch a new version of Realize Harmony—one that spreads Allan's messages through merchandise, sponsoring music and empowering others to create and see the benefits of doodling. As well, Realize Harmony gives back by providing scholarships to music and art high school students who embody the kind spirit like Allan. This year, Ilene has received numerous awards for her work. The Merrick Chamber of Commerce awarded Ilene the Professional of the Year in January 2024 and the Women in the Arts in Long Beach awarded Ilene the Community and Education Award in April 2024. Ilene and Allan's love story was cut short by his sudden passing in 2021—but his legacy lives on through the mission of Realize Harmony and the passion seen by so many. As Ilene continues this important work—Allan is on the journey with her—because his work continues to impact people of all ages. She wants the world to know that together WE can change the world—one doodle at a time.
