Presenter
Angela Byrns is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years of experience working with children, adults and families. For the past 18 years she has been with East End Hospice and is currently the Children’s Bereavement Coordinator and Camp Good Grief Director. In addition to working with hospice patients and their families, Angela developed the children’s bereavement program at East End Hospice. In 2016, Angela collaborated with Marisa Striano, owner of Spirit’s Promise, to develop the current equine bereavement program offered there. Angela has hosted and lectured at conferences, developed and runs training programs for professionals and has done extensive community outreach and education on grief, bereavement, trauma and self-care. Angela has expanded her work with others to include many other modalities. She completed 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), 95 hour children’s YTT, Reiki Master, is certified in Vibrational Sound Therapy and breath work and has experience with aromatherapy and equine therapy. Through personal life experiences and her work with grief, bereavement and trauma she has come to understand the importance of being self-aware in our mind body connection in healing and how we process information and experiences. Connecting to self, recognizing and trusting our inner being and gut instincts is a very powerful and freeing process. Connection to self-enhances relationships with our surroundings and others. Angela utilizes her love of nature along with a combination of experiential therapies and mind/body/energy modalities throughout her work in individual, group, teaching and retreat settings.
