This course is designed for school-based speech-language pathologists who are interested in curating an entire school year curriculum using "Daily Celebrations." Participants will learn how to organize speech sessions by daily themes, while addressing and targeting individual student goals focusing on using digital resources.  In addition, the presenter will share carryover speech activities to help generalize speech goals around the school building. 


Penny Morris, M.A., CCC-SLP graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Baccalaureate in Communicative Disorders and Sciences and Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA). She has New York State licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and earned her degree as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.  In addition, Penny attained her bilingual extension from Teachers College, Columbia University.  Over the past two decades, Penny has worked in a variety of school settings working with preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students.  In addition, she has worked with adults with developmental disabilities.  Penny’s current position is working with the Life Skills’ program at Central Islip High School.

Learning Objectives

Participants will: 

1.    Learn how to create and facilitate in-school vocational opportunities, generalizing their students' skills/pragmatics 
2.    Demonstrate how to create a dynamic speech curriculum for the 2022-2023 school year using "Daily Celebrations"  
3.    Identify which resources to use with students to target their specific goals that will improve effectiveness and carryover
